In the course of a film there will almost certainly be some musical moments that slip through the net in terms of clearance. In this instance, some footage had been supplied to play on the carehome TV and an edit assistant had grabbed some gameshow SFX from YouTube. With days to go before the final mix, it transpired that the gameshow SFX were from ‘Wheel of Fortune’ – possibly the biggest gameshow in U.S. history.
In a frantic day, I produced 3 soundbeds and 3 stings that make up what’s emerging from the TV. None of it would win an Ivor Novello, but it sounds appropriate and the gameshow works.
