This John Dowland ayre from the late 1500’s has been recorded many times but none of the existing recordings had the avant garde edge that director Marc Munden was looking for. I recorded the track with tenor Simon Wall, lute and viol da gamba with the addition of effected bass clarinet to achieve the right result. I remixed the track for Marc several times to give the optimal balance allowing the dialogue to cut through.
